very random but im curious about the process you guys go through to decide whether to read a manga/hwa/hua or not.
for me, the cover/title catches my attention first, so art style is a big factor for me. not super picky but i cant read something that looks bad yk. then i read the summary- if no summary, i look at comments from those popular users that make a summary/add to lists (always avoid spoilers!). after that, if im not interested i leave. if i am, i scroll down and rlly quickly skim the recommend lists and top tags to get more info on the genre/tropes. SOMETIMES, and this is when i want to get an idea of top/bottom positions if its relevant in the summary, i check a random photo. then if im set, into the want to read it goes and i click start read!

Honestly I'm specifically looking for stories where the mc ends up completely alone, and that's it, be it because they thought it was better this way or because they were thrown away by others. No one is there for them, they end up alone, or they disappear alone, nothing more yk?.. Like that's the end

Heyy i wondered if anyone knows the name of this manga. The MC has blond hair and has Magic powers. He has to beat the evil wizard lord that was actually his uncle or something.
A black haired guy with glasses (think) is with him and he has a Magic (electric) guitar that he uses in battle against people that try to catch the MC.
In the first part they go to some wizard that looks at the MC Magic powers and sees that the MC had like alle elements or something and therefore would be the one that can defeat the evil wizard.
Among their quest they meet another woman and also some kind of cat/Feline person that joins them.
I remember that in the first chapter the MC had to disguise himself or something by wearing a dress/skirt HAHA idk why i remember that so clearly.

Y'all I kinda just started reading bl stuff but I'm getting a lil confused? What's the difference between a bl and shounen ai ??
bl is often with smut while shonen ai is usually without smut
BL (boys love) is the acronym for the translation of shounen ai
But in general speech BL engulfs Yaoi and shounen ai
Yaoi being a more pornographic genra lacks the representation for stories with significant plot
Shounen ai being romance/plot driven is the gay equivalent of shojo so often stops at kissing
But we all know there are stories that don't fit in those categories so the big label was needed (it used to be yaoi but since that stuff is/was pejorative in japan AND still has a heavy pornographic intonation, it felt wrong to use that label) so BL was an easy no brainer name for all stories about two dudes
Boy's Love = yaoi or shounen-ai, basically any story that has to do with gay men.
Yaoi = BL stories that contain smut/sex scenes.
Shounen-ai = boys love without any smutty scenes

Maybe its just me, but Ive never been super intrigued by stories where 2 characters already have some sort of foundation in their relationship. whether its childhood friends, best friends or just friends, exes, friends with benefits. Ive always found it boring.
I love when characters have no inimate connections and the story builds the foundation of their relationship. this is why co-workers, old classmates (not friends) ect are my favorite type of stories.
Personally its feels like if characters know each other for a long time its just easier to put them together. its feels like "oh theyve known each other for 8 years, yesp perfect reason to make them a couple"
because Ive noticed with a lot of comment sectios on here, the mindset is "history equates to endgame"
also I guess I prefer to see the relationship progress in the current moment, instead of waiting for flashbacks

Its just so much more interesting and fun to see a relationship build from the beginning as the characters learn things about each other that makes them fall for each other, the way the tension increases, the new and sudden ba dumps, the chemistry is just so beautiful! There's just soo much there to know like the past of both characters being different and how they tell each other about it and their reactions just sooo many things in general that you can find out.
When it's childhood bestfriends to lovers it's like okay you guys basically know each other your whole life atp you're just a married couple without a marriage certificate you know? Like there's nothing new or much to add to it, just clearing miscommunication and a love confession so obviously it's boring and just dragged out!

This is why friends to lovers can never be in my top 10. its such an overused trope and people will say enemies to lovers is an overused trope, but lets be for real..its very rare to come across a really good enemies to lovers story, most of the time the hate is one sided and secretly one of the characters has secretly always been in love

Like whyy you gotta like your enemy first!!? let the plot develop so that you both catch feelings together! ʕಠ_ಠʔ Another thing i hate about the popular stories with this trope is losing their original personality after the confession, like during the hating period both characters would be so smug, sarcastic and funny but as soon as they confess it's like they're a whole new person and lost all their personality!? Its all just lovey dovey and mushy, please keep at least a lil tension that was present before catching feelings!
You know it's a good enemies to lovers when you get butterflies in your stomach just by seeing/reading the part where the characters touch or do the smallest service of affection despite their hatred! (｡♡‿♡｡)

With the fact that before yiyoung re-transmigrate as renee. The owner of the black tower clearly stated that in her "next life" he will never let her go (which now could mean 2 ways, depending on how you take it. First which is what most readers will think, ~ oh just another demon who will take revenge blah blah cliche~ or Second, what if sedin IS the owner of the black tower reincarnated??? So what if the tower's final floor is to remove said bug.
But wouldn't that be hard since going with the flow of this story it's clear sedin and renee (yiyoung) will get entangled romantically? What if the quest was like ~ to go back to your original world, you'd have to make a choice. Stay here (which owner of the tower wins cuz he never wants to let go of yiyoung in her next life. If he does in fact is the owner of the black tower and if he is, might have regained his memories) OR kill your "lover" (knowing she'll probs end up catching feelings) and return to your own world? ~
